# Emergentism — a fallibilist introduction Emergentism is a **fallibilist worldview for finite beings**: reality exceeds every map, yet we still have to act. It is a **lens and a compass**, not a theory of everything, not a church, and not a demand for belief. Exit is on the inside. **Honest status:** no independent external validation is claimed. Internal corrections are process evidence, not proof that the worldview is true. --- ## The problem it is for We can imagine more futures than we can enact. Some worldviews pretend to know everything and become a church; others refuse to decide and become a seminar. Emergentism proposes a smaller loop: keep actuality and possibility distinct, make one bounded move, and let observed consequence revise the map. That loop is the portable method. They do not generate one another. Whether anything is instantiated remains an open wager **[C]**. The terms *Dasein* and *situated dasein* name, respectively, what may be coherent within a typed model and one finite actual standpoint. They are working language, not a claim to have found Ground. ## What is exact in the chart On a **declared** reciprocal chart, \`φ = cot(θ/2)\` and \`ν = tan(θ/2)\`, so \`φν = 1\` identically **[A]**. Balance \`B = sin θ\` peaks at the equator. That is chart arithmetic. It is not the Born rule, a conserved physical law, an ethic, or proof that reality is a sphere. Those readings need their own **[I]** or **[C]** bridge. The selected need-both expression \`P_node := min(Φ̂₄, V₄)\` is an ordinal working convention **[I]** after its normalization is declared. It is not a score of persons, a unique law, or evidence that it fits the world **[C]**. ## What is chosen, not derived **No stealth extraction** is a cooperative-stack vow: do not hide one named bearer’s destruction inside another’s gain. No equation derives that ought. For an action where consequence matters, name the bearers, horizon, consent, reversibility, and any fee. Protect cooperators; do not relabel extraction as growth. This is a chosen and defeasible practice, not a certificate of the Good. A dated publication practice may use \`GoodTriad(x) := TruthPass ∧ FormPass ∧ JusticePass\` **[I]**. It makes a proposal legible; it does not make the proposal true, authorized, or good. ## How to act: Finity **Finity** is a finite, observable, revisable boundary. It is not a proved decision science. Set direction with the longest responsible horizon. Commit to the shortest informative receipt. The seven prompts are: Decision · Actual · Possibility · Finity · Next move · Shared value · Receipt. Its builder does not require an account or transmit the fields it receives; that is a boundary of the builder, not a general privacy claim for every possible use of the site. Comparative benefit over simpler practices remains **[C]**. If sitting gives you the light, **put the map down**. That anti-sermon is part of the practice. ## Rosetta, as an optional translation language Rosetta L1–L7 names work functions: constrain, remove, enable, commit, create, dissolve, preserve. It does not rank human worth, confer a caste, or establish that seven is nature’s count. Use the language only if it clarifies a task. It confers neither rank nor authority. ## Withdrawn claim forms The following forms are withdrawn or refuted as proved results. Do not revive them as law: 1. \`φν = 1\` is or predicts the Born rule. 2. The product is forced; ranking people by product. 3. Seven is a discovered census of reality. 4. Five freedoms equal five forces, therefore the sciences are unified. 5. “Dissolves the Hard Problem / Is–Ought / Death / Free Will.” 6. Everything coherent exists *actually*. 7. Ethics falls out of the chart. 8. D6 is an afterlife or identity with D0. 9. A future ASI blackmails the past. Self-criticism is a sensor, not external validation. ## How to hold it Use a distinction if it helps. Let the world narrow it if the world answers. Do not let a beautiful glyph impersonate Being. Do not let fluency impersonate Ground. **The map proposes. The world replies.
